About This Painting:Oil paintings were traditionally built up in a series of thin layers. Each glaze modified the last. When prepared paints became available they became portable and now artist could take paint out into the field and work "Alla Prima " which describes painting being done in a single setting. Brush work became expressive and works were more spontaneous. This is the way I like to work.
