About This Painting:

Gladiolias are planted in the spring as the soil warms. they are planted about 4 inches deep and if you want to have flowers through the season it is a good idea to stagger the planting of corms about every two weeks so you get a progression of bloom. Caladium tubers should be dug in the fall before we have a frost. Allow the tubers to dry and then store them in open boxes covering the tubers with either dry peat or vermiculite. They need to be stored in a place where the temperature doesnot go below 60 degrees over the winter. Also dont store them where is might get too hot and dry or the tubers will shrivel. Check on them during the winter to see that they are not rotting or shriveling. Caladium can be started in the spring about 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Start them in pots fill with growing media covering the tubers about 1 inch. Keep the pots moist and in a very warm spor to get them growing. Move to a sunny area and then put them out when the soil is warm. First of June is good.

Sally and I were drinking Blue Martini's by the pool when we went for a swim, we found a small tree frog in the pool. I call them tree squeaks because of the sound they make. It really wasn't in our drink but I thought it would look cute in it. We took the little guy out of the pool and sent him on his way across the yard.
Blue-on-Blue Martini Recipe
6 parts vodka1 part blue curacao1 dash Angostura bittersCocktail olive ( or one small frog)
Combine liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker with cracked ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with olive.
