When It comes to painting animals I like to paint farm animals the best. Lambs,cows,pigs,and chickens. Now I;m not sure if this upset the studio cats because they don't get equal time. They don't seem to mind not being the model of choice as long as they is a cozy spot to sleep. A little tickle on the tummy keeps Kayak happy for a little while.

Taking a Break
As artist I often just need to lie down look up at the sky and think. My mind is whirling with so my ideas at one time, I just need to relax and let them form. Then quickly write them down before my mind moves on to something else. It seems like I am play hopscotch with ideas jumping from one to the next. Sometime I can connect with them, add to something I am working with. At other times I wonder were they cam from so I put them on the back of the stove to simmer a little longer. Just taking a break can put a fresh face on it all.

Galveston Island Texas

Living in Michigan all my life I am always surprised at what wonderful things other areas of the United States has to offer.Michigan has is Great Lakes and white sand beaches. I was told that I would be disappointed with the beaches in Texas when I came here.

Galveston Island may not have great stretches of white sandy beaches but when I put my toe into the water it was bath warm . The beach had lines of colorful umbrellas and beach chairs and the children were running in and out of the waves. I could have rented a beach chair and watched the ocean but I wen out on one of the stone storm surge barriers and sat watching the tide come in and the sun set.
