About This Painting:This is one of the warm up paintings that I did for the Tarpon Springs Art Show . I finally made a decision on which 8x10 to put in the show and I just realized that I didn't take a picture of it. I think I will go down to Tarpon this week and paint in one of the parks there and I will stop by the Artists'Faire Art Gallery and take photo of the painting.

Lake Tarpin

I was Plien Air painting this week at Lake Tarpin Florida, fighting the swarms of bugs that kept getting stuck in my oil paints. Just one of the hazards of painting on site.These is a Legend about a monster in Lake Tarpin but I didn't see it the day I was painting, just bugs were my only excitement a one small gator.

The Vegetable Market

Today I went to Duneden and painted with a group of plien air artist from Tarpon Springs Fl. It was a perfect thing to do, visite the green market in Dunedin Fl. The green market, brussel sprouts,leeks,radish, and all kinds of Fl fruit. Wonderful things to ear and great things to paint.

There were lots of fun tents and colorful fruits and vegetable. The smells were wonderful, it was hard to think about painting with the great music and all the people walking around the market.

A wonderful collection of booths and shoppers.

Small Town Usa Plien Air Painting

>I Plien Air painted in Adrian Michigan on Saturday.The group was a little new to Plien Air painting but the day was wonderful and everyone had a great time setting up and painting the local downtown with its wonderful old buildings. It's to bad the Walmarts of the world have destroyed this old way of life.

Painting at Millie's Studio

Yesterday we visited the home of Millie Gift Smith. I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures to share, but this is a good reason to make a return visit to her home and enjoy this wonderful womans artwork.

Millie has the same last name as mine but is not a relative. I think I will adopt this charming lady who open her home and ground to us to plien air paint.

We were given a tour of Millie's studio which had us all drooling with it large window and wonderful painting area. Millie showed us how she sets up her camera and make instructional videos of her art work which she show on Utube.

Now having said all of this Millie is 90 and still going strong somewhat of a newly wed having married at 85. She made me realize it is never to late to learn. I had bought a video camera over a year ago to do a little Utube work and have found every excuse in the book not to start. Well if this lady can do her own videos, she is self taught and edits and films her own , I guess it's time for me to learn. I am giving my self to the end of the month for my first video. I don't think it will take me that long to make the video but it may take me that long to clean the studio.

Plien Air Painting

This is one of the many wonderful views available at Hidden Lake Gardens. The Gardens is indeed like squares on a quilt, a paradise in a park, where there are engagement and playful fun, an escape from the everyday world.

The group of artist from the Jackson Michigan Civic Artist Group,that meets every Tuesday to paint somewhere in Michigan start to get ready for the critic.Today we had about 8 painters. It is a loose formed group all are welcome. We boost several very fine pastel artist, a few watercolors, oil painters, and a sketch artist.

I did two paintings when I painted at hidden lakes this is the other one. We paint until 12:30 then take a lunch break and critic our work then if you have time we go back and paint a little more.
