Making Way- sailboat

I started with a tinted canvas. This one is 7x5

I do a quick sketch in transparent red oxide.

I block in the sky color using white ultramarine blue and a touch of veridian green.

I paint the ocean color. Painting the dark water with phthalo blue.

I start painting the clouds. I use a thin lavendar mix for the underside. The clouds recede and become less intense.

I add the sail color and highlights of the water.

I put a few figures in the sailboat.

I work a little more on the clouds and the waves.

I work on the foreground.

I add a small amount of yellow to the clouds and the water.

Gold fish, Fish art

I started with a 6x6 stretched gallery wrapped canvas.

I tinted the canvas with a wash of phthalo blue.

I did a quick sketch in transparent red oxide.

I then start adding the darkest colors . My goal at this point is to block in the back ground because I want my fish to be able to melt back into the darkness of it.

I start adding pure color to establish the fish forms. White and Cad, Red to start. I will correct these colors later.

I add a little more lemon yellow to the top of the canvas to green up that area. I then add indigo to the bottom. I continue to develop the fish form.

I use a rich mixture of cad yellow and cad orange for highlights on the fish. I keep working on the fins of the fish.

I finish putting the last details on the painting.

I started the painting with a toned canvas.

I sketched the basic composition in with transparant red oxide. Iwanted to make sure that I had rom for the tail feathers.

I painted the sky with a mixture of phthalo blue and white.

I developed the background.

I develop the comb and throat feathers.

I add the forground color and the shadow of the rooster.

Using a large brush , I block in the darkest colors of the Rooster. I add the throat feathers.  I use cad. orange and alizarin crimson.

I added some green to the tail feathers. I I add more details . I mix white and yellow ochre for the legs and feet.

I tweak a few of the small things
