About this painting: It is always good to be a rainy day saver, you never know when those extra pennies will come in handy.
This weeks’ challenge  on DPW is very simple. Paint a pig. Any pig. You can use the reference photo provided, or you can paint your own. Your pig can be flesh and blood, ceramic, metal, fashioned from a potato, imaginary, etc. I got mine at a thrift store, but have since seen the same ones at Hobby Lobby. Oink oink (that’s pig for have fun!)!

Brunt Umber painting

Every week Daily Paintworks has a challenge, something to make you think out side the box. Every instructor I have ever had has had us do this weeks challenge, oil were to paint on a burnt umber ground, wipe it down to a mid value, paint in the darks, and wipe out for lights (with paper towel or q-tips - try dipping in mineral spirits for the really white stuff). Use ONLY burnt umber (or raw umber if that’s all you have) - no white!!!

This Old Car, DPW CHALLENGE

Welcome to the DPW Challenge!

Carol Marine found this old car last year when she was wandering around St. Augustine, Florida. She loved the dichotomy of the cool darks in the car and the warm colors off in the sunshine. The main objective is: paint and have fun with it!The challenge was posted quite a while back but I was getting packed to get back to Michigan and didn't have time to give it a go soI finally got to it today. Now what is next on my to do list. I need to be six people to get it all done.
