About This Painting: I have been painting lots of marsh animals this week as I work on my large 4x8 feet painting for ArtPrize 2012. I had hoped to have it finished by the 30th but I still have more work to do. I have been paintings a few studies of marsh animals trying to decide which one will work best in the painting. I gave this mallard duck a try but I think I will use a male in the painting because I want the nice green colored head or maybe a small wood duck.

Shaggy Sheep- SOLD

I work on this painting first in watercolors which can be seen on blog Art on Paper. The I started this painting in oils. I think I will try another one. I like the brush work but would like to try an underpainting for more contrast next time.
