Memorial Day Weekend here in the U.S. and there are bands,picnics and celebrations all over the country. Wherever you are, and whoever you're with, have a wonderful weekend! It is the official start of summer. I want to remind you to enjoy nature this weekend. Go for a walk, watch the flowers grow, fly a kite or have a barbeque, but enjoy the changing seasons. Lilacs in a Ball Jar
About This Painting: Every year when I was a child we would pick Lilac and Iris and put them in fruit jars because that is what we had. This was how we made our bouquets to take to the grave yard and put near the markers of family and friends. Dad would take us to each grave and tell us about out great great grandfather or great uncle and all the wonderful things he remember about them. Today I paint this picture and remember.
