I decided today that is was time to start a few Valentine Days Painting. This is the still life that I set up. My husband kept wandering into the studio today, I think it was because I had this Conversation Hearts Candy. I kept feeding them to him. It would not be Valentines Day for me with out them.
I sketched the set up on the panel. Today I am using a gessoed panel instead of my usual RayMar panel.
I paint in the background and the foreground.
I begin putting in the local color of the nail polish and the candy.
I keep build up the local colors add the pastel colors of the candy hearts. I add the color to the cap of the nail polish bottle.
I add the finishing touches to the painting.

Love these small paintings. I've done some of lipstick and they are fun, fun.

ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about Valentine paintings too. This is a fun one and I love the story of your husband visiting you for these little heart treats.
