Sunfish painted in oils

I sketch my ideas on paper then sketch them out on the canvas.

I add a little lemon yellow to the background and begin putting in the darker parts of the fish using a dark gray mix.

I put n the local color of the fish. I am using a base of gray for this fish.

I painted in the warm in the foreground of the painting using transparent red oxide.

I add more details to the fish. I begin  putting in the eyes of the fish and more detail with the fins. I start to add the scales using a light shade,

I add more color to the fish, yellows and oranges and few sparkling highlights. I darken the background.
