About This Painting: Useing Whites in you oil painting.
White is the most used color on a artist palette. I am currently buying it in cans because I use so much of it. There are several different types of white oil paints.
1. Titanium white: an inexpensive, pure white and it mixes well with other colors. It is very slow drying. It has Safflower oil in it.
2. Underpainting white: It is like Titanium white but has an alkld-base it dries quickly.
3.Foundation white: make from lead pigment and eed oil. It is toxic.
4. Flake White: this is a brillant , lead based white is very opaque. It is quick drying an will dying help speed up the drying time of other colors. It is also toxic.
5. Zinc Whits: This is a thin semi opaque white that is good to use in glazing.
6. Cremnitz White: Kind of stingy and stiff it is lead based and is toxic.
