I was painting up north, a term we use in Michigan for just this side of the bridge, I found this restored farm house that a wonderful dinner bell by the back door. All farm house used have dinner bells by the back doors, so when it was near time to eat they would ring it. The men in the fields could hear it and come in for a hot meal and relax for awhile before finishing the days work.
