Cherry Ice Cream

Cherry Ice Cream

About This Painting:

I come form a long line of ice cream lickers and cherry is one of my favorits. In reality there is no flavor of ice cream I don't like. Cherry is number 11 in the most popular flavors of ice cream. When I was small my Mom and Dad would take me to the movie with them on Saturday night and after the show we would stop for ice cream. We did this even in the winter. Dad would always get a malt but I would get Black Cherry Ice Cream. I remember it to this day, it had big fat sweet whole cherries in it. Ice Cream is definitely Comfort food.

Glass

Glass

About This Painting:

There is no single color or paint that could be labelled 'transparent glass'. The color of a glass is determined by what's around it, what you see through it, what is reflecting in it, and how much shadow there is.
The two glasses in this photo are both simple, transparent glass. The one at the front is empty and the one at the back has liquid in it. Now your brain knows that the color of the glass at the back hasn't changed, it's the liquid in it that's making it a different color. But to turn it into a painting, you don't first paint the glass itself and then what's in it.
You're creating an illusion. You need to suspend your brain's interpretation of the objects and look at the colors and tones. Paint each little shape or bit of color and tone individually and, like a jigsaw puzzle, the pieces will snap together to form the whole.

Waffles with Strawberries and Whipped Cream

Waffles with strawberries and whipped cream are more like dessert than breakfast but I don’t let that stop me from eating them for breakfast.
I love breakfast foods. I could eat breakfast for three meals a day, maybe four. Fresh strawberries are one of the foods that I crave. So this pile of delight really hits the spot. If you like waffles like I do here are a few more recipes for Waffles

Indian Prayer" Oh Great Spirit, Whose Voice I Hear in the wind, Whose breath gives life to the world, hear me. I come to you as one of your many children, I am small and weak, I need your strength and wisdom. May I walk in beauty, make my eyes behold the red and purple sunset, make my hands respect the things that you have made, and my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise so that I may know the things that you have taught your children, the lessons that you have hidden in every leaf and rock. Make me strong...not to be superior to my brothers but to be able to fight my greatest enemy.. myself. Make me ever ready to come to you with straight eyes so that when life fades as the faded sunset, my spirit will come to you without shame. "Tribes and Nations

When Wolf Creek Thaws (click here to Bid)

I went down to wolf Creek thinking I would try to paint the old abandon stone bridge there, but to my surprise it was almost under water. The warm weather had thawed most of the snow and the run off had almost covered the old bridge. I decided not to paint it this time because it looked funny surrounded by the melting snow. It may have seemed warm at first glance but the stiffness in my figures due to the cold said it was still cold. I wear old gloves with the fingers cut off when I paint in cold weather so my finger don't get too numb.

When wolf creek thaws the tiny abandon stone bridge is almost covered with water. This painting is 9x12 done on hardboard
